The virtual pumpkin-decorating contest is organized by Ville de Montréal’s Service d’Espace pour la vie, located at 4101 Sherbrooke Street East, Montréal, H1X 2B2, and will be held from September 26, 2022 to October 31, 2022. Entrants can submit a photo of their creation between September 26 and October 26. The jury will then determine the winners, who will be announced between November 1 and 4, 2022.
Eligibility requirements
No purchase necessary. To enter the contest:
Fill in the entry form on the Espace pour la vie website by 11:59 p.m. October 26, 2022, and correctly answer the question: What popular celebration is held on October 31?
Only one entry form per person is allowed. Repeat entries will be automatically eliminated. Entries received on the website after 11:59 p.m. October 26, 2022, will not be accepted.
Awarding of Prizes
All jack-o’-lanterns will be judged and selected by an elected committee with members representing the Jardin botanique de Montréal, based on the following criteria:
Categories and Prizes
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and may not be exchanged for cash.
A family pass is valid for 2 adults and a maximum of 3 children, ages 5 to 17. Entry is free for children 4 and under.
Gift certificates can be used at any Espace pour la vie boutique.
Passes must be used by June 30, 2023.
Individual category - The project is the work of a single person.
Individual, Age 3 to 5

Family category - The project is the work of a family, which includes at least 2 members.
Group category - The creation is the work of a group of people such as a class, a daycare or childcare group or centre, etc. Groups must have a minimum of five people and a maximum of 30. The prize will be awarded to the group that entered, and not to the individuals in it.

Selection of Winners
Prize winners will be determined between October 26 and October 31, 2022, at the Jardin botanique de Montréal, located at 4101 Sherbrooke Street East, Montréal, Québec, H1X 2B2, by the jury of Espace pour la vie representatives. Prizes will be mailed to the winners.
Means of Notifying Winners
Espace pour la vie will notify winners by e-mail or telephone. Winners’ names will be posted on the Espace pour la vie website.
Persons Not Eligible to Enter the Contest
Employees of Ville de Montréal’s Service d’Espace pour la vie, organizers, jury members and the members of their families are ineligible to enter the contest.
Any dispute regarding the conduct or organization of this publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any dispute regarding the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie for the purpose of attempting to settle it.
The contest organizers (Espace pour la vie) are not responsible for unreceived, illegible or incomplete entry forms. Winners, as well as anyone accompanying them, may not hold Ville de Montréal’s Service d’Espace pour la vie responsible for any damage or injury arising from the awarding or use of their prizes.
By entering the contest, the winners, as well as anyone accompanying them, hereby authorize the organizers, if necessary, to use their name, voice, place of residence, statement about the prize and/or photograph, without any compensation, for publicity purposes relating to the contest. Individuals whose contact information is entered in the contest entry form are considered to be entrants.
By taking part in the contest, entrants accept the conditions set out in these rules and agree to abide by them.
The information requested is required in order to enter this contest and will be used only for that purpose. It will be kept by Ville de Montréal until June 30, 2023, and will be accessible only to individuals responsible for administering this contest. This information is administered in accordance with the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information, subject to section 9 above.
